Pat Lakatta

Classically-trained Baltimore Composer-Writer-Producer Pat Lakatta’s award-winning music, film and video career spans 30 years across Healthcare, Food, Advertising, Arts and Music Industries.  She earned a B.A. in Music cum laude from Goucher College and a Graduate Degree in Business from Johns Hopkins University. Throughout her successful professional careers, Pat  has written and produced film and video for national commercial organizations, using inspirational and provocative music as a back drop.  She headed communications and served as spokesperson for several Maryland hospitals and The American

Red Cross. Pat was also the editor of a major East Coast nursing magazine, a college professor and an art education company owner.  Each accomplishment was woven within the core fiber of her creative, inspired musical strength.  Always drawing from and staying true to and her one, singular passion…Pat made music!

Pat’s first release, Sunny Side Up, featured the singer/songwriter’s colorful original characters and themes…“Music for children-not children’s music.”  With insight as a mom of two, a preschool music teacher and an accomplished R.N., she responded without hesitation to a community call to provide access to the Arts.  There wasn’t a music program for kids, so she created a positive, motivational program of music and movement for local county children. Everybody’s Got a Place, her follow-up, energetic, inter-generational album of original songs for the entire family, won a Parents’ Choice Award and a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award for Music Composition.  After a number of children’s albums and awards, Pat Lakatta toured her musical messages across the US: Memorable musical experiences for children and adults create a foundation for a life-long appreciation of Music and the Arts, everyone is valuable and your best friend is you!

Pat's singular musical passion continues!  Her diverse musical genres: Children’s, Country, Classical, Americana and Pop/Rock- have been widely performed live, on recordings, in theatre, in the classroom and published in print.  Her music continues to transcend age.  Pat artfully includes a viewpoint and message in her music in a subtle way that respects her audiences.  Her classical music has been likened to Composers Schumann and Debussy.  Her compositions evoke distinct moods, memorable stories and rich musical landscapes.  Her on-point lyrics, lush melodies and rich musical soundscapes strike a personal chord, making vivid lasting human connections.
